(* Labor day screwed me up. This is a Monday post on a Tuesday. Enjoy)

As a Professional makeup artist, I like to think one of the thing that sets us apart from the average consumer ( I use average gently babe) is the access to QUALITY products. Any of you remember when MAC was really a Makeup artist cosmetic? A time before it was in every major department store or town mall? There were rumors (and some confirmations) of the product quality being "watered down" now that it was a Estee Lauder owned brand? Well Makeup forever is now all over sephora. As one of the best products out there, I say great! Cool beans! Eye shadows and Lip pencils for everyone!

12 Color Palette now available at Sephora? HOLD UP! WAIT A MINUTE! Your going to make my prize possession as a makeup artist available for everyone? I give a nervous "sure, ok" to this one.
I guess I cant begrudge any consumer to be great! I just don't want the same thing to happen to a Great COMPANY that is actually more ARTIST motivated than others. How do you guys feel about this?

In the last post I mention that I carry three mascaras in my purse and I do. Now if you are into makeup you probably know why I have 3 but I know there are some of you that are like "why does she need three?" Well depending on the look I am going for with my Lashes I decide by which brand has the right brush. To me Mascara formulas are pretty much " relative." I find that the brush is what really creates a different look. Take for example the 3 Brands I had in my purse:

PhotobucketMakeup Forever Professional: For me really goes on clean and creates individual definition for each lash. Its actually my favorite one, I use it especially if I want my liner to show through my lashes and for then to look long and natural. Its really great in waterproof.
PhotobucketSmashbox Bionic Mascara: I use for a smoky look when I want my lashes to look really full and I don't mind a smudge under my lash line because it adds to my look. This one I usually sweep with a paper towel as the brush usually comes out with too much mascara for my taste. I don't mind a small smudge but last time I checked panda eyes were not cute.
PhotobucketMaybelline Lash Discovery: This wand is perfect for catching those fine lashes on the lower lash line and gives the right bang for your buck. Suggestion though, be sure to close it very tight as your mascara can become dry and stick and cause clumping. The wand is also great for removing clumps in individual lashes.

What mascara do you use?

I got the chance to really try some great products over the summer. I used them in several projects that I had this summer including my first runway show as a lead artist. A few of the products, I found myself still using to create great fall looks for my clients right now. One of those products was the Makeup Forever Professional Aqua Kit. It came with several waterproof products including my new favorite makeup remover. Its the pencil though that really stood out for the rest. A creamy waterproof pencil that has intense color that does not require that I pass it across several times for it to show up? I am in love forever. So thus, having that one pencil, I needed more in every shade they had (20 to be exact.) I don't have all of them yet but I am collecting them. Check them out here at the Makeup Professional website or Sephora.com
